19-year-old Emil Gjerdrum gets another opportunity to compete as a guest driver for Porsche Experience Racing at the Porsche Festival at Rudskogen, racing with car number 911.
At Rudskogen on August 29, 2026, racing driver Emil Gjerdrum (19) will compete as a guest driver in Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia during this year’s Porsche Festival.
Throughout the 2026 season, Emil has competed in the European ADAC GT Masters, the Norwegian Racing NM GT+ championship, Historic Racing, as well as selected GT3 races across Europe. In GT Masters, he drives a Ford Mustang GT3 EVO for the Ford factory team, Haupt Racing Team (HRT Ford Racing). Now, Gjerdrum will compete for Porsche’s own factory-backed guest team, Porsche Experience Racing, in cooperation with Porsche Norway.
For Gjerdrum, the weekend marks a special return to both Carrera Cup and Rudskogen. He previously competed as a guest driver in the same series during the Porsche Festival in 2024. This time, however, the 19-year-old returns to Rudskogen with a very different level of experience and preparation. He will be competing against some of the leading racing drivers in the Nordic region.
“It will be very exciting to return with Porsche Experience Racing and race at my home track. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity Porsche Norway has given me. It is a great vote of confidence, and I truly appreciate it. I will do my very best to make the most of the opportunity and fight for strong results,” says Gjerdrum.
Returning with More Experience
When Gjerdrum competed in 2024, he was just 17 years old and had very little time to prepare. He had no previous experience with the Porsche Cup car, which made the challenge particularly demanding.
This time, he returns with considerably more experience, now as a GT3 driver. Since his last appearance, Gjerdrum has established himself in international GT3 racing and is currently competing in his second season of ADAC GT Masters, where he has already achieved several strong results.
“It will be a completely different situation this time. In 2024, I was thrown into it at very short notice and had no experience with the car. Now I know much more about what to expect – both in terms of the car, the format and the track,” says Gjerdrum.
This year’s guest appearance in Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia also comes during the summer break in the ADAC GT Masters season. The Rudskogen race therefore provides Gjerdrum with a valuable opportunity to stay sharp and maintain his competitive edge during the break in the European championship season.
New Cup Car with ABS
Gjerdrum will also have a technical change to adapt to. This year’s Porsche Carrera Cup car is equipped with a new ABS system, unlike the car he competed with in 2024.
“I am of course already familiar with ABS from the GT cars I have driven, so that should make the adaptation easier than last time. Either way, it is about quickly getting into the flow of the car, finding the rhythm and making the most of the time I have on track. I don’t want to put too much pressure on the result beforehand, but once I am in the car, the goal is always to be as far up the field as possible,” he says.
Racing at Home
The fact that the race takes place at Rudskogen makes the weekend even more significant for Gjerdrum. With family, friends, partners and Norwegian racing enthusiasts in attendance, he will have the opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd.
“I have raced internationally a lot over the past few years, so it is really exciting to come home and race in front of people who follow me and Norwegian motorsport,” Gjerdrum concludes.
