The Gjerdrum brothers competed this weekend in the ADAC GT Masters at DEKRA Lausitzring in Germany, held alongside the DTM Championship in front of a large crowd. Emil, driving the Ford Mustang GT3 for HRT Ford Performance, secured two third-place finishes and his first podiums of the season, while younger brother Storm continued to demonstrate strong form in his BMW M4 GT3 for FK Performance.

The weekend’s races were run over 80 minutes and featured three stints, two pit stops, a driver change, tire changes, and refueling. The driver who qualifies the car starts and finishes the race, while their teammate drives the middle stint.

First Podium of the Season for Emil on Saturday

On Saturday, Emil and teammate Max Reis (car #1) started from sixth on the grid. Emil took over the car during the middle stint and delivered a strong performance, moving up to fourth place before handing the car back to Reis for the final stint. Reis continued the charge and brought the Ford Mustang GT3 home in third place, securing the team's first podium finish of the season.

Storm (car #10) also delivered a strong race under challenging conditions. In high temperatures, he completed a solid stint and helped FK Performance fight at the front for much of the race. In the end, the young Norwegian secured an impressive fifth-place finish, continuing the positive development he has shown throughout the season.

Another Comeback Earns Emil a Sunday Podium

On Sunday, Emil qualified the car in seventh position. In the opening stint, he showed impressive pace and worked his way up to third place before the team completed its first, short pit stop.

After the team’s second and longer pit stop, which included a tire change, Emil took over the car again with around 20 minutes remaining. At that point, the team was running in fifth place, but the Norwegian launched an aggressive charge and fought his way back up to third. With just two minutes remaining in the race, he completed the decisive overtake that secured his second podium finish of the weekend.

For Storm, it was another valuable points-scoring result. He delivered another strong stint on Sunday despite the hot conditions and fierce competition in the large GT3 field. He ultimately finished eighth, following up on the impressive third-place finish he achieved during the previous race weekend at Zandvoort. The results confirm that the 16-year-old continues to make significant progress in his debut ADAC GT Masters season.

With two third-place finishes in two days, Emil carries important momentum forward in the championship. At the same time, Storm continues to gain experience and deliver strong results against some of Europe’s top GT3 drivers. The next round of the ADAC GT Masters takes place in three weeks at the legendary Nürburgring circuit. The brothers hope to continue their podium streak after together securing three consecutive podium finishes for the family.
